Carolyn Elaine Bailey passed away the morning of Sunday, December 30th after struggling with several illnesses. She had recently moved to Stanley, North Carolina to be closer to family after living in Charlotte, NC for about 14 years. She started her life in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where she graduated with honors from Penn State University, a proud member of Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society. Carolyn worked as a civilian with the U.S. Navy as a position classification specialist in the Industrial Relations Office’s Wage and Classification Division after college. She gave up her career to raise her daughters, but filled their childhoods with 'Betty Crocker Mom' memories; cookies in the cookie jar, family dinners every night, crafts of every kind, she made every holiday special, and she filled the house with music and love. Later in life Carolyn combined all of her talents in the career she started late but loved so much; activities director for several retirement homes where she brought joy to whomever she could. Carolyn was an only child and is preceded in death by her father, Elmer Raymond Senior and mother, Alma Bernice Whited Senior. She is survived by 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren, Kara Jeanette Deal and her children, Autumn Deal 14 and David Deal 8, and Lauren Bailey Sharr with her husband Steve Sharr and their 2 children, Dayton Sharr 7 and Cameron Sharr 6.
You are loved Mom; nurturer, best friend, confidant...you will be missed.”
