Gregory Allen Di Pietro, 69, passed on May 22, 2018. Born March 12, 1949 in Dearborn, Michigan to John and Georgia Di Pietro. He attended Crestwood High School and served in the U.S Army Reserves. Greg moved to Florida in the 1960's where he began his appliance business and his beautiful family.
Greg met and married Frances Davidson in 1976. They had two children, Gregory Di Pietro (Stephany) of Gastonia, N.C. and Dawn Di Pietro Strouse (Thomas) of Charlotte, N.C. He has been blessed with four wonderful grandchildren - Kennedy and Kendall Di Pietro, Sullivan and Scarlet Strouse.
Greg had an appliance business in New Port Richey, Florida. There was nothing he could not fix or make better - as long as it had an engine!! You could always find him under the hood of a car! He lived his life just the way he wanted and loved his family dearly, including his dogs Diggity and Taco. He enjoyed time with his family and friends and coin collecting.
He lived out his last year in the home of his son Gregory and daughter in law Stephany. He spent the last three weeks of his life with loving care from those at the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas, NC.
Greg is survived by his sister, Diane Rode, Palm Harbor, FL; brothers Don Di Pietro, Wyandotte, Mi and John Di Pietro, Madison, Alabama. He is also survived by his nephews David Rode, Robert Di Pietro and John Paul Di Pietro. He is predeceased by his parents, John and Georgia Di Pietro, brother Robert Di Pietro and nephew Donald Di Pietro.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Our hearts are saddened with his passing but are comforted knowing he is in a better place. He put up a fight like no other against cancer. We will never, ever forget this amazing, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 6th 2018 at 1030am beachside at Sand Key Park in Clearwater, Florida. Lunch to follow atSalty's Island Bar & Grille at 12 noon.
