Keith Roland “Moe” McGinnis, 62, went to be with the Lord on Monday April 22, 2019. He was born in Gaston County, son of the late William “Bill” McGinnis and Cora Sue Martin. He was preceded in death by his step dad Whymer Jack Martin and his mother in law Joyce McGee. He was a lifelong member of New Life Baptist Church in Stanley and was a Sunday School Teacher. He loved spending time with his grandkids. He enjoyed playing for the church softball team for many years. Keith loved showing off his Farmall Tractor at the Cotton Ginning Festival. He enjoyed cutting wood and spending time outdoors. He loved working with his father in law Dal McGee which was his best buddy. Keith always loved helping other people.
He is survived by his wife of over 37 years Jackie McGee McGinnis, 1 daughter Jacklyn Suzanne Bridges and husband Jeffrey Bridges Jr. of Stanley, 3 Grandchildren Kaleigh, Dakota and Cale Bridges, father in law James Dal McGee of Dallas, step mother Linda Carolyn McGinnis of Newton, 2 half brothers James McGinnis and wife Destiny of Belmont and William “Bill” McGinnis of Clover, SC, a half sister Jennifer Whitener and husband Ben of Newton, and a number of nieces and nephews who called him Uncle Paw Paw. He had many special friends who loved him like brothers. A special thanks to his sister in law Terri Palmer for her help over the past few months.
A service to celebrate the life of Mr. McGinnis will be held 1:00pm Thursday, April 25, 2019 at New Life Baptist Church in Stanley, 527 N Buckoak Street. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Belmont. The family will receive friends from 12-1:00pm prior to the service at the church.
